Overview

The Kedarkantha Peak is one of the most sought after snow trekking destinations in India. With falling winter snow it’s a mesmerizing pictorial view and what’s more attractive, is the view of the Mighty Himalayas from the trails right to the top. Nestled at a height of 3810 meters which is about 12,500 feet this is an ideal trekking trail that covers a consolidated distance of 20 km. The distance is not much and the trekking trail is neither very difficult which enables even the first time trekkers to set on the adventure and enjoy the beauty of nature at its best. This trek has all the delightful marvels that a trekker wishes to experience and view in his journey. Terms & Conditions

    • Fitness: A high altitude trek in the Himalayas requires considerable fitness. Your body needs to train itself to process more work with lower levels of oxygen. Therefore, on treks, cardiovascular training is critically important. You need to be able to jog a distance of 4 km in 40 mins before the start of the trek. Unable to do so can make your trek difficult. In addition, preparation of trek needs to include strength and flexibility training. Registering for the trek is an understanding that you will undertake the mandated fitness training.

    • Backpack carrying: Tripsaa expects all trekkers to carry their own backpacks. All common gear will be carried by the support team. If for some reason a trekker is unable to carry his or her backpack, he/she can offload the same by paying an additional charge before they start the trek. No suitcases/trolleys will be allowed.

    • Drop out during trek: If for any reason a participant has to drop out from the trek on any day then Tripsaa will help the trekker to reach the nearest road head. A support staff will accompany the participant to the nearest road head.

    • Non-liability: Tripsaa is not responsible for any loss/damage of your gears/ equipment or other belongings on the trek.

    • Payment: You may make this payment by Cash, Cheque, Online, DD or NEFT. Once you done the payment kindly provide us the payment detail through an email. (Go through payment procedure also.)

    • Payment procedure: To confirm your registration you need to pay at least 30% of trek fee as an advance and the balance payment has to be cleared before your pickup.

    • Cancellation: If the trek is called off at the last moment due to a natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rains, earthquake, landslides, strike etc), Tripsaa will issue a trek voucher for the full amount. The voucher can be redeemed for the same trek or another trek in the next one year. The cancellation charges are as under:

        • Cancellations prior before 30 days from the start of the trek – Full Refund.
        • Cancellations prior to 29-15 days from the start of the trek – 80% Refund or Trek Voucher worth paid amount (Trek Voucher is valid 12 Months).
      •  
        • Cancellation prior to 7-14 days from the start of the trek — 50% refund or Trek Voucher worth paid amount (Trek Voucher is valid 12 Months).
      • Cancellation prior to 7 days from the start of the trek — no refund or Trek Voucher worth paid amount (Trek Voucher is valid 12 Months).

    • Drinking and smoking during the trek are strictly prohibited. If found flouting the rules, your participation on the trek will be canceled with immediate effect.

    • Route changes, postponement, delay or finishing the trek a day earlier: Under some extraordinary circumstance, your trek may end a day earlier or start a day later. This may become necessary due to inclement weather, snow and ice conditions, political restrictions or any other cause. In the event of a change, postponement or delay, participants have no right to refund of the trek (in whole or in part) or other compensation for any injury, loss or damage. Trek fee is not charged broken down in terms of days but is a composite fee for the whole trek.

    DAY 1 : Haridwar/Dehradun to Sankri

    Morning Pickup from Haridwar/Dehradun for long but scenic drive to Sankri via Mussoorie, Barkot, Purola, Mori, Netwar along the Tons River its 240 km (10 hours journey) Stay overnight in Sankri.

    DAY 2 : Sankri – Juda Ka Talab (4 kms)

    After morning exercise we will have our breakfast and start the trek around 8 AM for our first camp at Juda Ka Talab. You will cover a total of 5 km of distance today. In this trail one will come across many shepherd huts in open meadows which are equally delightful to see. The trail starts in a beautiful pine forest, just a short 10 minutes walk away from the village. The trail is wide and one can hear the sounds of running streams all through but may not be in view till much further. We will camp beside the small pond surrounded by Pine and Oak trees. One can have beautiful views of snow clad peaks from Juda Ka Talab campsite.

    DAY 3 : Juda Ka Talab to Kedarkantha Base (3 kms)

    Get up early morning to see the golden glow of snow clad peaks. Post breakfast start the trek to Kedarkantha Peak base which takes around 4 hrs to reach Kedarkantha Peak base. The track again begins through dense forests of pine and oak trees only and through steep ridge and much more dense areas. Just before reaching the Kedarkantha Base one can enjoy the fascinating views of arc shaped range of snow clapped mountains. Enjoy hot lunch and explore the area. At night, the snow-clad mountain peaks shine bright as the moon, and you will clearly see Kedarkantha from your campsite. Overnight sleep at the tent.

    DAY 4 : Kedarkantha Base – Kedarkantha Peak – Juda Ka Talab (10 kms)

    Today is a long day trek up to the summit of Kedarkantha peak, The day begins early with a filling breakfast and enjoying the sunrise from the Kedarkantha meadows which is a simply amazing, pure and divine. sometimes you will find yourself in knee-deep snow. As the sun rises, you’ll see dramatic show of colours in the sky and the transformation leaves you speechless. One can relax at the top for some time and enjoy the magical beauty of nature. After spending some quality time at the peak we trek back to camping site in Juda ka talab. enjoy the snow slides while decending

    DAY 5 : Juda Ka Talab– Sankri(4km) - Dehradoon (By Tempo)

    Trek down from to Sankri from Juda ka talab on well marked trail. Trek down through thick forest of Pine and Maple trees and at some places you will have open views of beautiful Har Ki Dun valley. After reaching sankri transfer to Dehradoon
