Pangarchulla Peak trek is an enchanting trek that takes you through some of the most beautiful scenic trails and paths. While trekking, you will come across many small gorges, meadows and deep forest as you continue your trek. If timed right, the summit climb to Pangarchulla is out of the world. You make your way to 15,069 ft in deep snow, with some boulder sections and views grand enough to make you stop in your tracks.
The Pangarchulla trek passes through the Nanda Devi Sanctuary. So the trail is blessed with views of Mt.Nanda Devi, Chaukhamba, Dunagiri, Hathi Parbat, Ghori Parbat and more. These are a true treat for the eyes. On summit day a steep ridge taking you on an ascent to the peak on summit day is a painstaking but highly gratifying feature of this trek. The climb becomes arduous and sated with adrenalin rush. The overwhelming snow on the trail will add to this incomparable feeling of exploring the unsurpassable.

Starting the drive from Rishikesh from the appointed pickup point (Chai Sutta Bar), we will take the fabled Badrinath Road. The drive from Rishikesh to Karchi Via Joshimath is a beautiful one. The route is along tributaries of Ganga. The ten hours drive to Joshimath is long and arduous, but you are never going to run out of mesmerizing views. So, keep your cameras on the ready and remain awake for most of the journey.
Meal : DinnerAfter an early breakfast on this day,. From here our trek will commence. The terrain is mostly rough here. Leaving out the terrace farming lands, there is no a?uence of greenery, but o?ers a sweeping view of the Garhwal frontier all around. You are not likely to find any snow in this zone. The trail is a mix of steep and moderate climbs. Look back as you approach your first camp. Hathi and Ghora parvat make their first appearance here. From your first camp you get the access to the beautiful views of Behemoth Peaks, unveiling Kedarnath Peak, Chaukhambha, Neel Kantha, Mukut Parvat, Kamet, Ghori Parvat, Hathi Parvat, Dronagiri, Nanda Devi, Nanda Ghunti. The magnificence of this vision is incomparable.
Meal : Breakfast,Lunch,DinnerThe trail today ascends all the way to Khullara but it's not as steep as the previous day. Within 40 minutes of starting from Akhorgetta, you reach the first clearing. You will be surrounded by oak forests on all sides; you will come to a green clearing overlooking the magnificent snow peaks. Continue on the trail leading into the forest. Along this path, the Hathi-Ghora peaks will be manifesting gloriously along with Dronagiri now somewhat flipped to the side. Throughout the day, you see Dronagiri to the left, slightly at the back. The peek-a-boo that the mountains play through the forests makes for very enchanting sights.
Meal : Breakfast,Lunch,DinnerFourth day is for Acclimatization , today we will approach to kuari pass likely to span 7-8 hours depending on the group's pace. In 1-1.5 hours you reach a ridge, which is a part of Lord Curzon's trail. From here 360 degree views of the Himalayas open up before you. From the ridge, trek up to Kuari top. This is a moderate climb with a few switch backs. From here It will take you 40 minutes to reach the top. We take the same route in return to reach Khullara Camp.
Meal : Breakfast,Lunch,DinnerOn this big day, we start early in the morning at the crack of dawn and set off on fresh snow for the summit hike. The first 30 minutes of the ascent is a thorough ridge climb which you will know has ended when a vision Pangarchulla Main and auxiliary peaks rise right up ahead. Walk across deep snowy routes and due to the early start, get awestruck by the clear mesmeric views during dawn. On this route to the top of the peak, the Nanda Devi, Trishul, Changabhang peaks are a spectacle to the eye. The onward approach to the Pangarchulla summit is laborious, but not difficult. There are multiple steep sections on soft snow. Proper high ankle trek boots, gaiters and crampons will help in climbing. Crampons are highly advisable to minimize chances of slipping on snow. The section of the climb can take five-six hours in snow conditions. Spend some time feasting your eyes with the marvels before you resume walking down to the camp. The return is a three-four hour descent down to the camping grounds of Khullara. Take care while descending on snow.
