The Beas Kund Trek will take you through some of the prettiest sceneries and captivating sights to capture an elevation of 12,772 ft. At this height, a small glacial lake, fed by the melting snow of the higher peaks of the region awaits your visit. This trek is suitable for all age groups and no trekking experience is required to do it, hence everyone is welcomed.

The trek will begin with reaching Manali and having the day at leisure and acclimatizing. Enough part of the day will be kept free for you so you can spend it shopping for necessary gears. The trekking expedition will begin on the second day when a 12 KM long drive will take you from Manali to Solang Nalla. Solang Nalla being the basecamp for the trek will enthrall you with its explicit beauty and eye-catching serenity. As you reach Bakarthach after a 13 KM long trek, the striking beauty awaits you. Day three will finally take you to Beas Kund after a 6 KM long trek, wherein you will get to catch the contrasting sight of a peaceful water body nestled between jagged mountain peaks. You will also come across the Beas Kund Glacier while advancing towards Beas Kund. Pluck the wild strawberries and mushrooms on your way and lazily watch herds of sheep and goats grazing. Day four will be full of descending where you will be trekking from Bakarthach to Dhundi and then drive to Manali through Solang.

Arrival in Manali

  • The first day of the Beas Kund Trek will begin with reaching Manali as per your schedule and checking into a hotel.
  • Once you are all settled in, you will have the whole day to yourself and you can spend it either resting in or scrolling the nearby markets for gear-shopping.
  • The day will end with delicious dinner in the hotel followed by a good night’s sleep.

Day 2

Manali to Solang Nalla to Bakarthach (12 KM drive /13 KM trek)

  • Second day of the trek is when the real hiking/trekking session will begin, after a short briefing, a 12 KM long drive will take you to Solang Nalla.
  • The trek will take place along the banks of Beas River wherein you will be walking and crossing boulders through the forests of oak, fir and walnuts to reach Dundi.
  • Lunch will be served here, after which a remaining 5 KM long trek will begin to Bakarthach.
  • Your tents will be set up at Bakarthach.
  • Dinner will be served and the night will be spent at this campsite.

Day 3

Bakarthach to Beas Kund to Back (6 KMs trek both way)

  • The third day of your trek will begin with breaking the camps early in the morning.
  • Once the breakfast is done, a 6 KM long trek will begin to the famous Beas Kund.
  • The place has a heap of boulders and makes an excellent photography spot. Velvety slopes will be seen from here, and below them, fir and spruce trees will be easily distinguishable.
  • From here, you will also be able to see where the tree line ends, and grasslands take over. After trekking for 4 to 5 hours, you will reach Beas Kund. This lake is the origin of River Beas. Beas kund is also the base camp for summit peaks like Friendship, Ladakhi, and Shitidhar.
  • After spending some time clicking pictures and having some food here, you will head back to the base camp in Bakarthach.
  • The day will end with reaching the basecamp, having dinner and resting overnight.

Day 4

Bakarthach - Dhundi – Solang – Manali (13 KMs trek /12 KMs drive)

  • The last day of your Beas Kund Trek will begin with hiking downhill to Solang Valley. This downhill descend will be 13 KM long and will be finished within 5-6 hours.
  • From Solang, a cab will be ready to drop you at Manali from where you will be traveling home.
Meal - Breakfast,Lunch
  • All Veg meals as mentioned in the itinerary.
  • Tented accommodation on a Twin sharing basis.
  • Hotel in Manali on a triple sharing.
  • Morning and Evening tea with light snacks during the trek.
  • All necessary fees and permits of admission in different locations.
  • Trekking equipment like tents, sleeping bags, ice axes, ropes, etc.
  • Medical kit/ First Aid Kit.

  • Fitness: A high altitude trek in the Himalayas requires considerable fitness. Your body needs to train itself to process more work with lower levels of oxygen. Therefore, on treks, cardiovascular training is critically important. You need to be able to jog a distance of 4 km in 40 mins before the start of the trek. Unable to do so can make your trek difficult. In addition, preparation of trek needs to include strength and flexibility training. Registering for the trek is an understanding that you will undertake the mandated fitness training.
  • Backpack carrying: Tripsaa expects all trekkers to carry their own backpacks. All common gear will be carried by the support team. If for some reason a trekker is unable to carry his or her backpack, he/she can offload the same by paying an additional charge before they start the trek. No suitcases/trolleys will be allowed.
  • Drop out during trek: If for any reason a participant has to drop out from the trek on any day then Tripsaa will help the trekker to reach the nearest road head. A support staff will accompany the participant to the nearest road head.
  • Non-liability: Tripsaa is not responsible for any loss/damage of your gears/ equipment or other belongings on the trek.
  • Payment: You may make this payment by Cash, Cheque, Online, DD or NEFT. Once you done the payment kindly provide us the payment detail through an email. (Go through payment procedure also.)
  • Payment procedure: To confirm your registration you need to pay at least 30% of trek fee as an advance and the balance payment has to be cleared before your pickup.
  • Cancellation: If the trek is called off at the last moment due to a natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rains, earthquake, landslides, strike etc), Tripsaa will issue a trek voucher for the full amount. The voucher can be redeemed for the same trek or another trek in the next one year.

    The cancellation charges are as under:

    • Cancellations prior before 30 days from the start of the trek – Full Refund.
    • Cancellations prior to 29-15 days from the start of the trek – 80% Refund or Trek Voucher worth paid amount (Trek Voucher is valid 12 Months).
    • Cancellation prior to 7-14 days from the start of the trek -- 50% refund or Trek Voucher worth paid amount (Trek Voucher is valid 12 Months).
    • Cancellation prior to 7 days from the start of the trek -- no refund or Trek Voucher worth paid amount (Trek Voucher is valid 12 Months).
  • Drinking and smoking during the trek are strictly prohibited. If found flouting the rules, your participation on the trek will be canceled with immediate effect.
  • Route changes, postponement, delay or finishing the trek a day earlier: Under some extraordinary circumstance, your trek may end a day earlier or start a day later. This may become necessary due to inclement weather, snow and ice conditions, political restrictions or any other cause. In the event of a change, postponement or delay, participants have no right to refund of the trek (in whole or in part) or other compensation for any injury, loss or damage. Trek fee is not charged broken down in terms of days but is a composite fee for the whole trek.
