Overview

Nestled at an altitude of 14,000 ft the Bhrigu Lake Trek offers fascinating natural vistas and breathtaking views of snow clad mountains, lush meadows and verdant rich forests. People with competent physical fitness can easily enjoy the privilege of hiking to the exclusive Bhrigu Lake even without previous hiking experience. This ideal hiking trip promises loads of entertainment for both beginners as well as experienced hikers.

The trip begins in Manali, where you will be spending your first day of the trip acclimatizing. For a better understanding of the route, a short briefing will also be conducted in which you will get proper information about the whats and wheres of the trek. The trek will begin on the second day when you will be transferred to Kulang, which is the starting point of Bhrigu Lake Trek. From here, a 5 to 6 hour long trek will be carried out to reach Mori Dugh. This will be the first campsite where you will spend the night.

The third day of this trip will begin with heading out from Mori Dugh and starting a trek for a Pandu Ropa for 5 to 6 hours. Once you are here, tents will be available. Food/snacks will be served on-site accompanied by fun games and a bonfire. The fourth day of the trek will finally take you to Bhrigu Lake from Pandu Ropa. After spending some time in Lake Bhrigu, you will start descending back to Pandu Ropa to spend the night.

Day 1

Arrival in Manali

It’s always recommended to arrive at base camp one day prior to your trek for acclimatization.

Why is acclimatization necessary?

  • To get accustomed to the environment, food, and climate.
  • After a long and tiring overnight bus journey, your body needs rest.
  • You get spare time to collect anything you missed out on while packing from the local market.
  • You get to spend one extra day with your fellow trekkers and team, which helps you to know each other better.

NOTE: Charges 600Rs. for stay at Tripsaa basecamp for 1 night.

Day 2

Manali – Kulang – Mori Dugh (1 hour drive/ 5 to 6 hours trek)

  • Trekkers are requested to reach Manali before 8 Am if they have not opted for acclimatization stay.
  • After assembling at Tripsaa basecamp Manali we take a drive to Kulang.
  • Kulang is the base camp of this trek and once you are here, a quick briefing session will be conducted giving you insights about the forward journey.
  • The trek will start with the scenic views of apple orchards and the dense forests of Deodar and Pine trees.
  • After a few hours of trekking, you will get a glimpse of the stunning vistas of Kullu Valley.
  • This five-hour-long trek will take you to the campsite of Mori Dugh where camps will be set up for the night stay.
  • The campsite of Mori Dugh is surrounded by tall pine trees, hence a perfect backdrop for some memorable pictures.

Day 3

Mori Dugh – Pandu Ropa (5 to 6 hours trek)

  • The third day of Lake Bhrigu trekking will take you to Pandu Ropa.
  • The day will begin with some freshly made breakfast, followed by ascending towards Pandu Ropa for 6 KMs.
  • With an elevation of 11,480 ft., Pandu Ropa sits as one of the most beautiful sites filled with eye-catching views of hearth throbbing sceneries.
  • As you reach the campsite, a warm lunch will be ready for you.
  • Post lunch, the remaining part of the day is free, hence you can spend it exploring the surrounding areas and resting for a night.
  • With the tents settled and dinner served, it’s a wrap for the day.

PANDU ROPA CAMPSITE TRIPSAA

Day 4

Pandu Ropa - Bhrigu Lake - Pandu Ropa(7 to 8 hours trek)

  • The fourth day of your trek to Bhrigu Lake will be loaded with surreal views, dramatic landscape and loads of thrill.
  • The day will begin with an early morning session of stretching, followed by a sumptuous breakfast.
  • With each passing hour of the day, you will catch the crimson rays of sun lighting up the mountains in an artistic way.
  • You will be stopping mid way for lunch, after which the final few KMs of trek will be covered to finally reach the beautiful Bhrigu Lake.
  • For the fabulous view of Bhrigu Lake, you will be crossing a stream and ascending a ridge, hence making the experience even more joyous.
  • After spending some time at the lake, retrace your way back to Pandu Ropa campsite for an overnight stay.

Day 5

Pandu Ropa – Kulang - Manali ( 6 hours trek / 1 hour drive from Kulang to Manali)

  • Day five will be the last day of your trek to Bhrigu Lake.
  • The same route from where you climbed up will be traversed to reach Kulang.
  • From Kulang, an hour long drive will take you back to Manali.
  • The trip will end in Manali, followed by bidding goodbye to the fun times.

  • Fitness: A high altitude trek in the Himalayas requires considerable fitness. Your body needs to train itself to process more work with lower levels of oxygen. Therefore, on treks, cardiovascular training is critically important. You need to be able to jog a distance of 4 km in 40 mins before the start of the trek. Unable to do so can make your trek difficult. In addition, preparation of trek needs to include strength and flexibility training. Registering for the trek is an understanding that you will undertake the mandated fitness training.
  • Backpack carrying: Tripsaa expects all trekkers to carry their own backpacks. All common gear will be carried by the support team. If for some reason a trekker is unable to carry his or her backpack, he/she can offload the same by paying an additional charge before they start the trek. No suitcases/trolleys will be allowed.
  • Drop out during trek: If for any reason a participant has to drop out from the trek on any day then Tripsaa will help the trekker to reach the nearest road head. A support staff will accompany the participant to the nearest road head.
  • Non-liability: Tripsaa is not responsible for any loss/damage of your gears/ equipment or other belongings on the trek.
  • Payment: You may make this payment by Cash, Cheque, Online, DD or NEFT. Once you done the payment kindly provide us the payment detail through an email. (Go through payment procedure also.)
  • Payment procedure: To confirm your registration you need to pay at least 30% of trek fee as an advance and the balance payment has to be cleared before your pickup.
  • Cancellation: If the trek is called off at the last moment due to a natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rains, earthquake, landslides, strike etc), Tripsaa will issue a trek voucher for the full amount. The voucher can be redeemed for the same trek or another trek in the next one year.The cancellation charges are as under:
    • Cancellations prior before 30 days from the start of the trek – Full Refund.
    • Cancellations prior to 29-15 days from the start of the trek – 80% Refund or Trek Voucher worth paid amount (Trek Voucher is valid 12 Months).
    • Cancellation prior to 7-14 days from the start of the trek — 50% refund or Trek Voucher worth paid amount (Trek Voucher is valid 12 Months).
    • Cancellation prior to 7 days from the start of the trek — no refund or Trek Voucher worth paid amount (Trek Voucher is valid 12 Months).
  • Drinking and smoking during the trek are strictly prohibited. If found flouting the rules, your participation on the trek will be canceled with immediate effect.
  • Route changes, postponement, delay or finishing the trek a day earlier: Under some extraordinary circumstance, your trek may end a day earlier or start a day later. This may become necessary due to inclement weather, snow and ice conditions, political restrictions or any other cause. In the event of a change, postponement or delay, participants have no right to refund of the trek (in whole or in part) or other compensation for any injury, loss or damage. Trek fee is not charged broken down in terms of days but is a composite fee for the whole trek.
