The trekking expedition of Hampta Pass is surely a once-in-a-lifetime kind of thing. Taking you through the foothills of the majestic Himalayas, this trek will ensure that you catch the glimpses of rugged terrains, rolling green fields and lush forests. The beauty does not end here, as one also gets to discover the beauty of Lahaul and Spiti, followed by visiting the Chandratal Lake.
The trek will begin from Manali from where you will take a 1.5 hour long drive to Jobra Nala. This is the base from where the real trek starts. From here, an ascend starts to Chika wherein you are required to trek for 2 hours towards the elevation of 10400 ft. The third day of this trek is dedicated to climbing towards the basecamp of Balu ka Ghera. To reach here, you will be required to cross several streams, pass the boulder laden paths and walk along the river for the major part of the trek. Once you have reached an elevation of 12411 ft. at Balu ka Ghera, camps will be put out to spend the night in. The next day, an 8 KM long trek to the Hampta Pass will begin which will take you to your final destination. Once you are here, you will get to admire the virgin beauty of nature in its best preserved form. After this, a descent to Shea Goru will begin when your stay for the night awaits.
