6 days/ 5 nights -

Ex Rishikesh

Trek Difficulty

Easy - Moderate

Trek Duration

6 days/ 5 nights

Highest Altitude

12,800 Ft

Trek Distance

22 KM

The trek begins from Joshimath, in the Chamoli district of Himalayas, which has evolved into the hub for trekkers and pilgrims in this part of the Himalayas. The road goes along hugging the mountain side and you see the forests and valleys of Garhwal below you. On this trek one walks through gorgeous jungles of Oak and Deodar trees. And these jungles, of course, are house to some wildlife. Pug marks of leopards or Himalayan black bears can be sighted in the forests.

The truly refreshing part of the trek is while walking through the luxurious Himalayan meadows, called ‘Bugyals’ in the local tongue. The beauty and serenity of a Himalayan meadow is an experience no one should miss out on. The most remarkable is the Gorson Bugyal, consisting of vast undulating green pastures. Even if you leave these aspects out, the Kuari Pass trek is a superb trek. The beautiful sights and challenges of the trek make it a trek worth doing – whether it is your first time to the Himalayas or not.

The trail is a mix of steep and moderate climbs. Look back as you approach your first camp. Hathi and Ghora parvat make their first appearance here. Along this path, the Hathi-Ghora peaks will be manifesting gloriously along with Dronagiri now somewhat flipped to the side. Throughout the day, you see Dronagiri to the left, slightly at the back.
